LACHAU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi visited the Lachau Market to connect with the local community.

On their way to officiate at the closing ceremony of the Sri Aman Tidal Bore Festival 2024 in Simanggang, they made a stop at a local cafe here for breakfast.

The casual setting provided an opportunity to enjoy Sarawak’s local delicacies while interacting with the residents.

Following breakfast, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah took a leisurely stroll through Lachau Market, which proudly displays a wide array of jungle produce, traditional foods, and handcrafted goods that represent the region’s cultural heritage.

Wan Junaidi purchased items from traders as a gesture of support to appreciate the efforts of the local community to preserve Sarawak’s unique culture, as the market reflects a strong community spirit and dedication to maintaining traditional heritage.

Traders and visitors were filled with excitement with their presence at the market, and they expressed their gratitude for the recognition and support while taking the opportunity to take photos and interact with him and his wife.
