Head of State pays last respect to Daud

KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Ragad Kurdi Taib were present at the residence of the late Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman at Jalan Matang yesterday to pay him their last respects. Daud was later buried at the Muslim cemetery at Kampung Gita.

Also present to pay their last respects were Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and former Head of State, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin.

The late Daud, formerly Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Islamic Affairs), died at the age of 65 in a private hospital on Sunday afternoon due to heart complications while undergoing treatment.

He was   admitted to the hospital after complaining of stomach pains on Thursday.
