KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud visited Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian at his residence on the first day of the Chinese New Year Celebration yesterday.
Taib and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib had earlier attended several other open houses, including the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) open house, at the party’s headquarters in Jalan Ong Kee Hui.
Taib and Ragad, accompanied by other dignitaries, later participated in the tossing of the ‘yee-sang’ at Sim’s house.
The couple also visited state legal advisors Datuk Seri JC Fong, Plaza Merdeka managing director Datuk Steve Ng, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) board of advisors member Datuk Wee Hong Seng and former chief minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan.
Accompanying Taib and his wife were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Assistant Minister of E-Commerce Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.
