KUCHING:  It is important to organise sports activities among civil servants as they foster teamwork, said Deputy State Secretary Datuk Abu Bakar Marzuki.

He added that sports activities could also enhance ties among civil servants throughout Malaysia.

“They also help civil servants to network so that they can provide excellent and efficient services to the people.

“It is good to organise this tournament on a rotational basis as civil servants are introduced to their counterparts from other states and they can also learn about the states they visit,” he said at the Government Service Welfare and Recreational Council (Maksak) 2019 Tenpin Bowling Tournament dinner and opening ceremony here on Friday.

The event is participated by 297 civil servants in Malaysia.
