Hari Raya festivities in full swing as 13,045 attend Premier’s open house

KUCHING: Over 13,000 people thronged the Sarawak Premier’s Hari Raya open house at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today, celebrating the festive occasion in a spirit of unity and harmony.

Guests from all backgrounds arrived in traditional and casual attire, showcasing Sarawak’s multiracial diversity.

Although the open house officially started at 10.30am, visitors began to flood BCCK as early as 8.30am.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang personally welcomed guests, who were treated to an array of traditional Aidilfitri delicacies.

Head of State Tun Pehin Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi also visited Abang Johari to enliven the celebration.

In addition, several federal and state ministers, MPs, assemblymen, businessmen were also present at the open house.

The gathering provided a rare opportunity for the public to engage with state leaders in a warm and festive setting.
