KUCHING: Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis led a group of 25 participants on a field trip on Friday (Oct 9).

The group comprised longhouse chiefs and members of village development and security committees (JKKKs) from Ulu Undop area in Sri Aman.

They first visited the Permanent Food Production Park (TKPM) Rampangi here where they were welcomed by Department of Agriculture (DOA) Sarawak deputy director Gavin Dom. During the visit, the participants were briefed about the roles and functions of TKPM by DOA assistant officer Nur Falihin Junit.

The delegation was also brought to visit golden rock melon farming area where they were briefed by the entrepreneur Eddison Chang Lii Chyuan.

They also visited chilli farm which used fertigation method where they were briefed by CDK Alfa Sdn Bhd managing director Cooplay Nyipa Aji.

Apart from being presented with Musang King durian plants, the participants were also given chilli sauce products at the end of the field trip.

The trip was aimed at opening the minds of the participants on the economic potential in agriculture sector, which subsequently will enable them to increase their household income.
