SELANGAU: An Indonesian worker suffered a hand injury after being caught in a meat grinder at Pasar Baru Selangau today (June 9).
Firefighters from the Selangau station, along with the Civil Defence Force (APM), were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 12.28 pm.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the 21-year-old victim had his right hand trapped in the grinding machine inside an eatery.
After assessing the situation, the team proceeded to open the machine and stabilise the victim’s hand using a structural aluminum malleable (SAM) splint and bandages.
The injured worker was then taken to the Selangau health clinic via an APM ambulance for further medical treatment.
The team ended the operation at 12.55 pm.
