MIRI: Two families in Kampung Pasir Lutong here recently received a welcome visit from the Welfare, Health and Community Sub-Committee of the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch.

The MRC team focused on educating the families on important health and environmental topics.

“We covered the Dangers of Plastics, Importance of Cleanliness and Healthy Food.

“We also provided a briefing on the importance of clean water for good health,” said MRC in a statement.
Roslan Ali from Miri City Council (MCC) joined the visit to inform the families about the services provided by the council and how to raise any concerns they might have.

The team went a step further by distributing stainless-steel food containers to the families.

“This is part of our effort to raise awareness about the dangers of plastic containers.

“These containers were generously donated by a group who wish to remain anonymous. We are very grateful for their support.”

The visit also included a delivery of food baskets to the families.

“We plan to organise similar visits in the future.

“We encourage anyone interested in volunteering to join us in making our community a better place,” it added.
