Governor graces State banquet for judges

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, attended a State banquet in conjunction with the 58th Malaysian Judges’ Conference held at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) last night (Feb 16).

Addressing the event, Wan Junaidi emphasised that judicial integrity and independence are the foundation of a fair and credible legal system.

He stressed that public trust in the judiciary depends on judges’ transparency, professionalism, and commitment to upholding the law.

Wan Junaidi also expressed confidence that judges will continue to fulfill their responsibilities, free from external influences while remaining steadfast in delivering justice and ensuring the welfare of the people.

Malaysia’s top justices including Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, Court of Appeal President Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim, Chief Judge of Malaya Datuk Seri Hasnah Datuk Mohammed Hashim, and Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli attended the event.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Senate President Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah were also in attendance.
