KUCHING: The Sessions Court sentenced a man to a three-year good behaviour bond for possession of three dangerous weapons.

Allen, aged 40, was also granted a bail of RM10,000 with two sureties today.

The accused pleaded guilty to one charge read by an interpreter in front of judge Afidah Abdul Rahman.

Allen was charged with owning a dangerous weapon without any valid reason at a squatter house in Jalan Lui Shan Bang, Kota Sentosa around 9pm on Nov 29, 2021.

The offence is punishable under Section 7 (1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958, which provides for imprisonment of up to five and not more than 10 years, if convicted.

Based on the case brief, a police team searched a squatter house in Jalan Lui Shan Bang.

They found three kerambit (curved knife) and one knuckleduster in a sling bag belonging to the accused and the weapons were confiscated.

The prosecution of the case was handled by DPP Danial Mohamad Ali while the accused was not represented.
