SIBU: The “Jom Masak Bubur Lambuk Perpaduan dan Sunkei Perdana 2024” event, held at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 1 here on Saturday evening has been praised for promoting strong racial unity and religious harmony in Sarawak.

Jerwit Neighbourhood Committee (KRT Jerwit) chairman Daniel Iing Shii Ngie thanked the opportunity to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan and participate in the Iftar tradition.

“Ramadan is a sacred time for Muslims worldwide, offering a period for reflection, devotion, and spiritual renewal,” Iing said.

Iing reflected on the gathering as a reminder of the blessings received, the value of gratitude and humility, and the strength of community.

“The power of coming together as brothers and sisters in faith is undeniable,” he added.

He elaborated on the essence of Ramadan, describing fasting from dawn to sunset as more than a physical abstention—it’s a spiritual journey aimed at heart and soul purification, seeking forgiveness, and personal betterment.

“It’s a time to share food, laughter, and blessings, expressing gratitude for our sustenance and remembering those less fortunate,” said the architect.
