KUCHING: The 10th Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment (RRD) foiled an attempt by two local men to smuggle out 280 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks at the Malaysia-Indonesia border at 10.15am yesterday.

According to a statement, two suspects, age 48 and 38, were detained.

“The two suspects along with the lorry and 280 gas tanks were handed over to Bau police for further action.

“Police reports have also been lodged and the total seizure is estimated at RM139,000,” the statement added.
