KUCHING: Sibu Kampua soared to victory at the Swinburne Indoor Open 2025, clinching the title after a commanding 10-6 win over 4kFresh from Brunei Darussalam in the grand final held from April 12–13.
In the bronze medal match, Sabah’s Sunsetbalu edged out King Kong from Limbang with a narrow 7-6 scoreline to secure third place.
Finals MVP honours for Sibu Kampua went to Peter Ho Teck Yi (men’s) and Kong Kah Chee (women’s), while 4kFresh’s top performers were Harris Rosli (men’s) and Rawaida Aryssa Rakawi (women’s).
In the lower division, Hype Masters emerged as champions and also received the Most Spirited Team award for their energy and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The overall MVP awards went to Liong Man Kien of Sunsetbalu (men’s) and Kelly Chan of Happy lfrom Singapore (women’s), in recognition of their consistent excellence during the competition.
Tournament advisor Adriel Wong expressed his satisfaction with the successful outcome of the two-day event.
“The intensity of all the games — from the first match to the final—was nail-biting and exhilarating to watch,” he told the Sarawak Tribune on Monday (Apr 14).
