KUCHING: The Frenz A team successfully clinched the championship title of P.204 Betong Indoor Futsal Championship, also known as Sarawak Deputy Premier Cup, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas 2023.
The elite club from Debak defeated BDR Projek 2-0 in the grand final held at the Spaoh futsal court in Betong last Sunday.
With this victory, the Frenz A team members took home a cash prize of RM7,000 along with the trophy and medals.
Meanwhile, the BDR Projek team, who were the runners-up, received a cash prize of RM4,000 along with the trophy and medals.
In addition, the KBBS B and Loy 69 A teams, who were defeated in the semi-finals respectively, each received a cash prize of RM1,500 along with the trophy and medals as joint third-place winners.
Meanwhile, the sensational star of the Frenz A team, Zuhnun Akmal Kamati, was chosen as the most valuable player (MVP) of the final and received a cash prize of RM400.
The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by the UKAS Betong officer, Tonny Malang Chabu, representing the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas UggahEmbas.
Among those present at the ceremony were the President of the Sarawak Football Association (FAS), Abang Zulkarnain Abang Abdul Rahman, the President of the Betong Division Football Association (BDFA), Abang Suhordie AbangZaini, and other FAS exco members.
The three-day championship (24 to 26 February) was organised by the Belia Bukit Saban, Betong and brought together 32 teams.
