Fourteen child councillors gain leadership skills at camp

SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) successfully organised the Youth Leadership and Empowerment Camp from December 27 to 28 last year at the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).

The council, in a statement today (Jan 5), said that the objective of the programme was to enhance Child Councillors’ leadership skills.

“It was also aimed at fostering confidence, instilling positive communication skills, and unleashing their critical thinking in problem-solving,” said the statement.

The council stated that fourteen Child Councillors participated in the programme.

The opening ceremony was officiated by SMC chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh, while the closing ceremony was officiated by Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) Councillor Kelvin Lau.
