SIBU: Four suspects allegedly involved in gangsterism were arrested in Pakan on February 11.
Julau police chief DSP Andam Sulin stated that they were aware of gangsterism activity in Julau and Pakan that was brought up by Julau MP Larry Sng.
“We have detained four suspects for investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation,” he said when contacted today (Feb 15).
He stressed that the police viewed gangsterism activity seriously and vowed to continue taking concrete action.
Yesterday, Sng in his Facebook posting had called on the police to take action against gangsterism activity before Julau and Pakan turned into a “Wild West.”
He said local gangsters have been making life miserable for the people with their illegal activities.
