LUBOK ANTU: Four undocumented immigrants were caught entering the state illegally by the General Operations Force (GOF) at Jalan John on Friday.

Its brigade commander SAC Saini Bongkek who confirmed the case, said the incident happened around 8.30pm when the team was conducting patrols around the area.

“The team spotted four Indonesian men acting suspiciously and detained them for inspections.

“During questioning, the immigrants were found to have entered Malaysia via a rat trail and failed to produce any valid travel documents to the team,” he told.

The group of four had committed offences under the Immigration Act 1959 (Act 155) and Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).

He noted that the immigrants were ordered to return to their country of origin via the route used to cross the border.
