Foul smell leads cops to woman’s lifeless body in house

PADAWAN: A foul odour emanating from a house in RPR Taman Malihah here, led to the grim discovery of an elderly woman’s decomposed body today.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed that police were alerted of the incident at 8.12 am after residents reported an overwhelming stench coming from the house at Jalan Belatok.

“A police team was dispatched to the scene, where they found the woman dead inside the house.

“Police confirm that the deceased is a 71-year-old woman,” he said in a statement.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause and time of death.

Mohd Irwan added that the case has been classified as sudden death.
