MIRI: The recent murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25,  a former student of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), has sent shockwaves through the community.

Miri Member of Parliament (MP) Chiew Choon Man expressed his condolences and stressed the importance of a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Chiew described the disappearance and subsequent discovery of Nur Farah’s body as both shocking and very distressing.

“My deepest condolences go to her family, friends, and loved ones at this very difficult time.

“We believe that the police are doing everything in their power to thoroughly investigate this case and bring the perpetrators to justice,” he said.

According to the ‘Harapan Madani’ news portal yesterday (July 16), Chiew stressed the need to uphold justice.

“Justice must be upheld, and the perpetrators must face a punishment commensurate with their offence. I am committed to doing everything I can to support the families of the victims during this period of mourning,” he said.

Media reports indicate that the police are conducting an extensive investigation into the motive behind Nur Farah’s murder.

Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said it was too early to determine the motive conclusively and that no weapons were found at the location where Nur Farah’s body was discovered.

A 26-year-old suspect, who is also a police officer in the Perak Contingent, was remanded for seven days until July 22 for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
