PADAWAN: Narcotics police have arrested five individuals, including a woman, and seized over RM105,000 worth of various drugs last Saturday (Mar 22).
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) conducted three separate raids in the district.
“The team arrested four local men, aged between 24 and 34, as well as a 38-year-old foreign woman.
“In addition, various drugs such as ecstasy, methamphetamine, ketamine and Erimin 5 pills were seized with an estimated street value of RM106,578,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Irwan added that police also confiscated four vehicles, cash and jewellery, which amounted to RM136,050.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which mandates severe penalties, including the death sentence or life imprisonment with caning upon conviction
the suspects are being remanded for seven days until Mar 30 for further investigation.
