KUCHING: Food aid will be given to Kampung Sungai Ud, Dalat households following the lockdown that started today.

Dalat assemblywoman Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said supplies would be distributed once the Social Welfare Department (JKM) had received the order and packed them.

“Kampung Sungai Ud is in lockdown following an increase in Covid-19 cases through active case detection and swab tests.

“Food will be given to 240 households comprising 1,332 people at Kampung Sungai Ud as well as to 363 households consisting 1,382 people at Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir,” she said.

Fatimah, who is also the Welfare, Community, Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister, urged residents in Dalat District to come for Covid-19 screening following the district’s status change to red due to an increase of local infection cases reported for the past 14 days.

“Active case detection and swab tests are being carried out intensively by the Mukah and Dalat medical team. Please do not be afraid to come forward with information and also go for the swab test as the screening is open to the public.

“I hope that they will give full cooperation to the health personnel because we need to trace, track and identify close contacts then isolate them accordingly for the swab test and treat the positive cases.

“I advise people in Dalat to comply with the standard operating procedures, particularly regarding physical distancing, wearing of face masks and frequent washing of hands. Get enough rest, eat right and seek treatment at the clinic if you are feeling unwell,” she said.
