KAPIT: To date, some 1,564 households in longhouses under the Kapit constituency received the food aid that was distributed by the respective representatives over the past few days.
Kapit MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, who is the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, said the constituency consists of Katibas, Pelagus and Bukit Goram.
For Pelagus, its assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang assisted Nanta to supervise and distribute the food aid to needy families residing in the area.
Nyabong also supervised the distribution of food aid to the longhouses that include Rumah Juntan, Rumah Mamut, Rumah Sekudan, Rumah Jak, Rumah Achong, Rumah Bujah, Rumah Jampong, Rumah Umping, Rumah Theopilus Unan, Rumah Edison Bugap, Rumah Sigan, Rumah Jonathan, Rumah John Asun, Rumah Mary Balan, Rumah Paul Lenggang, Rumah Nyawai, Rumah Taing, Rumah Mikai, Rumah Minggat and Rumah Ukau.
The respective tuai rumah collected the food aid and distributed the food aid to each family.
As for Bukit Goram, its assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat assisted Nanta to distribute the food aid.
On the other hand, the Kapit Parliament Service Centre at Song handled the distribution for Katibas with cooperation from Song District Office to distribute the food aid.
