KAPIT: Assemblyman for Bukit Goram Jefferson Jamit Unyat has advised contractors who had been awarded the rural transformation project (RTP) to strictly adhere to the “terms and conditions” of the scope of works based on the specification of the contract.

He said the contractor must follow the specifications strictly to ensure the projects are implemented properly to the satisfaction of the implementing agency and also the client, who are the people who requested for the project.

RTP is one of the ways for the peoples’ representatives to establish close rapport with the constituents.

“During my follow-up and inspection of the various ongoing RTPs implemented in my constituency, I observed there were contractors who didn’t follow the specifications as per listed.

“I am concerned because if the contractor fails to do it properly, the people would not feel happy.  “RTP is one of the ways for the peoples’ representatives to establish close rapport with the constituents.

“So, when I allocated this RTP, I have to make sure the recipients are happy and that they appreciate the project which benefits the local community,” said Jamit during his round of inspection to the various RTPs at Jalan Genturong Selepong here recently.

“You will notice I am always on the ground to inspect the various ongoing projects and to meet the constituents because I have to make sure the contractors are doing the works properly as I am also in contact with the implementing agencies and the grassroots”, said Jamit.

The RM100,000 RTP is meant to level and cement the open space and construction of drainage around the housing area that comprise some forty-five families at JalanGenturong Selepong here. Tuai Rumah Silo Naul and the former Tuai Rumah Naul Ngaba thanked Jamit for being very kind and considerate to approve the RTP at their village.

“We are indeed very grateful to Jamit because he has kindly approved this RTP here as the project is to facilitate the proper flow of water.
