SIBU: Persistent rain over the past few days, coupled with the king tide, caused flooding in parts of Jalan Lanang and Terminal Penumpang Sibu last night (Jan 12).

According to Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Andy Alie, the water levels were on the rise.

“Our team has observed an upward trend in water levels.

“We will carry out another round of monitoring in two hours to assess the situation,” he said in a statement.

Bomba also reported that a longhouse, Rh Monica in Nanga Salim, was affected. However, the situation is under control.
