“We are extremely grateful to the dedicated members of the Belaga District Disaster Management Committee, led by the Belaga District Office, as well as agencies including the Belaga District Welfare Department, Belaga District Royal Malaysia Police(PDRM), The People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA), Malaysia Civil Defence Department (APM),Malaysian Public Works Department (PWD), Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA), and Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), for their ongoing efforts in managing the disaster in our district,” said Chukpai.
Later that afternoon, Chukpai also visited the Bakun Sungai Asap Resettlement Area to monitor the ongoing road upgrading works. Joined by the PWD Belaga, they inspected the project, which aims to improve accessibility to the resettlement area.
“May these works be carried out in accordance with the established quality and timelines under the supervision of PWD Belaga,” he added, emphasising the importance of timely and effective infrastructure improvements.
