MIRI: Five vehicles were completely destroyed, and four others narrowly escaped damage in a fire that engulfed two shop lots housing a car repair workshop at Jalan Usahawan 13, Padang Kerbau, here this morning (Jan 4).
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Centre reported receiving an emergency call about the incident at 1.49 am.
Firefighters from the Lopeng Fire and Rescue Station and Miri Sentral were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
The operation to extinguish the fire concluded at 3.18 am and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
