KUCHING: Members of the public are advised to take note of five road closures tomorrow (Mar 27) in conjunction with the 80th Commemoration Operation Semut Parachute Landing 1945.
Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the programme will be held at Padang Merdeka from 9 am until 11 am.
To facilitate smooth traffic flow, police will implement five road closures from 8.30 am onwards.
The affected roads are:
- The road from RTM traffic light towards Padang Merdeka.
- Jalan McDougall towards Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg (Merdeka Palace Hotel).
- Jalan Wawasan towards Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg.
- Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg towards Padang Merdeka (Old Courthouse).
- Jalan Tun Abg Haji Openg towards Padang Merdeka (Plaza Merdeka traffic light).
Mohd Farhan urged the public not to park by the roadside and to plan their journey in advance, using alternative routes to minimise congestion.
