KUCHING: Five persons including a woman, believed to be illegal gambling agents, were arrested on Tuesday.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the suspects were arrested during an Ops Dadu raid conducted on five business premises between 10am to 6pm in Padawan.
“The suspects were conducting other businesses in the premises but further inspection found that they were also operating illegal online and four-digit gambling activities.
“Police also seized various equipment including mobile phones and cash amounting to RM850,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He noted that the suspects were arrested at various premises, including a cafe, a convenience store, a restaurant, a grocery store as well as a house.
