MUKAH: Local police have arrested a 26-year-old fisherman for involving in drugs.
Mukah District police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said the junkie was arrested during a raid on an unnumbered house at Kampung Petanak Hilir here.
He said the man was found in a room of the house. Upon checking the suspect’s room, police found and seized a red transparent plastic straw tube containing crystalline substances, believed to methamphetamine weighing 0.07 gramme, stuffed inside a cigarette box.
Panyau said the suspect was brought to the police station for further investigation and his urine test was positive for drugs.
The suspect is being remanded for four days to facilitate investigations under Section 12 (2) and 15 (1) (a) of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
