MIRI: A stray dog was rescued after falling into a drain near SMK Suai recently.
Locals called up the emergency services for help after they heard the canine whimpering inside the drain around 2.19 pm that day.
According to Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Miri’s acting chief senior fire Supt Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, firemen from the Batu Niah Fire station were deployed to the scene immediately.
The drain was located about 10km from the fire station.
Firemen managed to pull out the trapped dog from the drain using a rescue tool.
The operation ended at 2.47 pm.
