KUCHING: Firefighters were slightly busy on Christmas Day yesterday as put out a blaze engulfing two luxury brand vehicles on Jalan Kampung Sungai Tapang.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported receiving an emergency call at 2.40 pm and firefighters from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station were mobilised and arrived the scene at 2.52pm.
“The team managed to bring the fire under control within minutes. However, a Mazda vehicle was totally destroyed, while a BMW suffered 95 per cent damage,” Bomba said.
The fire operation ended at 3.37 pm. No injuries or casualties were reported.
The owners of both vehicles have yet to be identified, and the case has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
