SIBU: A stray dog’s morning adventure took an unexpected turn today (Jan 5) when it became entangled in a basketball court net at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Tiong Hin but was safely rescued by firefighters.
The dog’s cries at around 7am caught the attention of school staff, who immediately contacted the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Department for assistance.
Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Department chief Andy Alie said the rescue team arrived at 7.24 am and quickly assessed the situation.
They safely freed the dog within 20 minutes by cutting through the netting.
“The operation was smooth, and the dog was unharmed,” said Andy.
The rescue operation was completed by 7.42 am, and the dog scampered away unharmed.
