MUKAH: Firefighter Jackery Tuksing who was killed in a road accident on Thursday was laid to rest at Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah) here today.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) deputy director Jainal @ Zainal Madasin, officers and senior officers from the state headquarters also came to pay their last respects.

Bomba Zone 4 senior officers from Mukah, Daro and Selangau as well as Daro voluntary firefighter team (PBS) also came.

Together with the deceased’s families, relatives, and friends, the Bomba personnel accompanied the hearse to the grave.

Zainal then handed over the national and department flags to the deceased’s widow Andriana Francis Swee, 49, before he and his men left the ceremony.

The late Jackery, 48, is survived by his widow and six children aged between seven and 16.

Jackery succumbed to his injuries after his motorcycle collided with a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) at Bestari I Roundabout here at about 10.20am on Thursday.

The 55-year-old MPV male driver was uninjured in the incident.
