The beneficiaries include 12 recipients from Kampung Ba’ Abang, 14 from Kampung Long Bangan, three from Kampung Long San, and six from Kampung Long Makabar.
Watson highlighted that the initiative reflects the Sarawak government’s and the Sarawak Foundation’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of fire victims.
“We hope this assistance will help lighten the burden of those affected as they rebuild their lives after this hardship,” he said during the handover ceremony held yesterday (Dec 18).
Telang Usan District Officer Ezra Uda also expressed gratitude to the Sarawak government and the Sarawak Foundation for their compassion and support.
“While this aid cannot fully compensate for the losses incurred, it means a great deal to those impacted,” he added.
