PADAWAN: Donations are pouring in for the family of a fire victim at Kampung Mundai here.

The house of the late James Pengos Kirim was destroyed in a fire outbreak on Thursday evening.

Among those who came to visit the family yesterday with their donations were Assistant Minister for Native Land Development, Tarat assemblyman Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, the president of the Sarawak Bisapug Association, officers from the Welfare Department and fellow villagers.

Sagah handed over cash and food assistance to the victims, while Sarawak Bisapug Association donated cash.

Officers from the Welfare Department also assisted the family members to process personal documents lost in the fire.

Siburan Fire and Rescue Station called to the scene managed to put out the fire with the help of Kampung Simpok volunteer firefighters.

The Fire and Rescue Department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
