Fierce winds leave trail of fallen trees

Several cars are crushed by uprooted trees after strong winds.

MIRI: Two trees fell this morning (Dec 22) after strong winds swept the city overnight.
Fortunately, there were no injuries in either incident.
The first incident occurred on Jalan Hainam near the city centre.
Firefighters from Miri Sentral responded to an emergency call at 6.30 am.
Just 15 minutes later, another tree fell in Kuala Baram.
Personnel from the Lutong Rescue Centre were dispatched.
Chainsaws were used to clear both trees and ensure public safety.
Meanwhile, METMalaysia has issued a weather alert for continuous rain across Sarawak until today (Dec 22) due to the ongoing monsoon surge.
Affected areas including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu, and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri, and Marudi).
