KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has been awarded with Best in Community Engagement & Green Initiatives award category at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024.

This is the first time FedEx has received the award in this category after winning three consecutive times in the category of Best in Community Engagement Support award.

FedEx Malaysia managing director Woon Tien Long said the company is humbled to be receiving this recognition as an acknowledgment of its continuous commitment to nurturing the next generation and efforts towards environmental stewardship in Malaysia.

“This award goes to the FedEx team for their unwavering commitment and for going above and beyond to support the communities where we live and work.

“We continue to prioritise sustainability as a way to deliver a better future in Malaysia and around the globe,” he said in a recent statement.

FedEx demonstrated its deep commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset through the FedEx/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge (FedEx/JA ITC), benefiting more than 9,200 students across Malaysia over a period of 16 years since its inception in 2008.

The award also acknowledges FedEx’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives for its strong contribution to sustainability, which provided fresh vegetables to disadvantaged Malaysian communities by supporting Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES) and its urban community garden in the Klang Valley.

The company said, these initiatives are part of FedEx Cares, a global community engagement program underpinned by its cultural value of “Committing to Do Good”.

FedEx volunteers came together and planted 100 tree seedlings in Desaru, Johor Bahru and Balik Pulau, Penang, as part of it’s 30th anniversary in Malaysia and to express gratitude for being welcomed as a member of the community for the past three decades.

The Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards acknowledge the unwavering commitment of corporations with the vision to create a positive impact through CSR initiatives to facilitate socio-economic transformation in Malaysia.
