KUCHING: The wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi has expressed her support for Sarawak Orchid Cooperative Bhd (SARORCO) in its efforts to promote orchid conservation and industry development in the state.

She welcomed the cooperative’s initiatives and conveyed her hopes for SARORCO to continue leading sustainable conservation and development efforts in Sarawak’s orchid industry.

Fauziah was speaking after receiving a courtesy visit from a SARORCO delegation led by its chairperson Tengku Dr Auvaroza Tengku Abraham at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today.

The delegation briefed her on SARORCO’s initiatives aimed at raising awareness of orchid conservation, particularly among the younger generation, through inclusive education, innovative research, community engagement, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

They also sought her advice on strengthening their conservation efforts and ensuring the effectiveness of their programmes.

As a cooperative committed to cultural empowerment, social unity, and economic development, SARORCO aims to advance the orchid industry while expanding economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
