KUCHING: A total of 52 farmers from Batu Kitang constituency have received agricultural input assistance through the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF) project.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang said, the assistance included seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, which will help farmers to improve their crop yields and incomes.
“This assistance is a welcome boost for the farmers who are facing increasing challenges such as rising input costs, climate change, and pests and diseases.
“It will help them to reduce their costs, increase their productivity and improve their livelihoods,” he said.
He added in addition to the direct benefits to farmers, the agricultural input assistance will also help to boost the participation of farmers and small-time traders in Batu Kitang in the agriculture industry.
“The agricultural input assistance is therefore a win-win for both the farmers and the small-time traders of Batu Kitang.
“It will help to boost the local economy and improve the livelihoods of everyone involved,” he pointed out.
