KUCHING: The family of the late Yuhanis Abdullah is still grieving his loss.
The deceased’s sister, Siti Mariam, 17, said she was devastated over the loss of her brother, who was the eldest among the siblings.
“I got to know of the tragic news while I was in school. People informed me that my brother was involved in an accident,” she told New Sarawak Tribune on Thursday (April 7).
Mariam had just completed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and the SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman student intends to pursue her tertiary education and aims to become a teacher.
Siti’s mother, Nur Jannah Abdullah, is also still coping with the loss. “I was so shocked and couldn’t even say a word.
“Someone from the village informed me that my son was involved in an accident. I couldn’t believe it and when I reached the scene, I was shocked to see his body and the road covered in blood,” she said while holding back her tears.
Jannah also shared that the last time she was with Yuhanis was when they were drinking tea together.
“It’s such a rare sight to see him eating together with us. So whenever I cooked noodles, which happened to be his favourite, he will sit down and enjoy the meal with the family.”
Jannah would also would wait for Yuhanis to come home after he was done delivering his food orders. “His loss cannot be replaced by worldly possessions, not even money. He is never coming back,” she sobbed.
