KUCHING: Minister of Communication Fahmi Fadzil is on a four-day state working visit starting today.

He arrived at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) at 9.45 pm last night and was welcomed by Sarawak Information Department director Helmy Hamid along with heads of departments and agencies under the Ministry of Communications.

Fahmi and his delegation are scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Head of State Tun Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Astana Negeri Sarawak at 10 am today before attending the SMART600 Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) agreement signing ceremony at Hikmah Exchange at 3 pm.

The next day, the minister is scheduled to attend the ‘Jelajah Hawana 2024’ (Dialogue with Students) at the Sarawak State Library at 8.30 am, followed by the Hawana 2024 Exhibition launching ceremony at Plaza Merdeka Mall at 3 pm.

In the evening, Fahmi will attend the launching ceremony of the Gabungan Kelab Media Malaysia (GKMM) at a local hotel here at 8 pm.

On the third day of his visit, he will attend the Sarawak Media Conference 2024 opening ceremony of which will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in the morning, followed by a meeting with Madani Sarawak Community at King Laksa, Metrocity at 2.30 pm.

Fahmi will attend a dinner with the Head of State at a hotel here at 8 pm.

On the final day of his working visit, the minister will attend the Hawana 2024 Grand Finale to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Waterfront Hotel at 2.30 pm before returning to Kuala Lumpur.
