KUCHING: Aidiladha represents not only the act of animal sacrifices but also the sacrifice made by the Muslim community in terms of financial aid, effort, and time, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He highlighted that such sacrifices serve to help those in need within the Muslim community.
“Aidiladha signifies the spirit of sacrifice, which extends beyond the slaughtering of cattle. It involves our sacrifices in terms of financial assistance, personal effort, and time. These sacrifices are meant to benefit those who are in need by appropriately distributing donations,” he said.
Fadillah, who is also the Petra Jaya MP, shared these remarks after attending the Majlis Ibadah Korban Qariah at Taman Sukma today (June 29).
He mentioned that the cattle slaughtering programme, organised by the Masjid Ikhwanul Islam Committee, has been a longstanding tradition for 20 years.
This year, approximately 12 cattle were sacrificed by the organising committee and will be distributed to those in need as well as participants involved in the event.
“In the Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency, a total of 63 cattle have been donated to mosques, suraus, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) within the area. The distribution process will be handled by the Petra Jaya Service Centre, in collaboration with local suraus and mosques in the three constituencies, namely Satok, Tupong, and Samariang,” Fadillah explained.
