KUCHING: Petra Jaya Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has set aside RM400,000 for the upgrading work of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Community Hall at Sungai Tengah Matang.

According to him, the hall has not reached completion as it is still in the first phase of its physical construction.

“We still need to do some filing work behind the hall, apart from adding more toilets because the two existing toilets are not enough.

“Therefore, I am allocating RM400,000 to finish up the first phase,” he said at a dinner in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration with 15 associations in the Matang area here last night (Feb 17).

Following this, he said that the upgrading work will continue on to the second phase in order to provide comfortable facilities to the locals here.

“Once the electricity supply is fully ready in the second phase, we will install air conditioning in stages,” he added.
