KUCHING: Some 314 factory staff joined the SECA Clean-Up Day which was organised by SECA charity at Samajaya Free Industrial Zone, Muara Tabuan here today (Oct 15).
The cleaning activity started at 7.20 am, located at Datuk Kawada Stadium.
According to SECA chairman and Longi chief executive officer Ngieng Sii Jing, the event was aimed at achieving a good level of environmental cleanliness around the area for the good of traders and also buyers who come to visit every day.
“This area has a high number of workers, the high level of visits also shows high waste disposal and we need to find a good way to help and this effort should find alternative ways to reduce the rate of waste disposal.
‘Such measures are by using recycled products as much as possible which can simultaneously reduce the rate of waste and help our environment,” he said.
“Make sure we are taking good care of this industrial zone. Don’t simply throw the rubbish,” he urged.
Also present are participants from factories – Taiyo Tuden, Lintec, Murata, Western Digital, Longi, Linde, PPKS, Trienekens and MacDermid.
