KUCHING: The kitchen and a storeroom of a single-storey house at Lorong Urat Mata, Tabuan Jaya, here was damaged by fire yesterday (Feb 25).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 7.45pm incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang stations were deployed to the scene.
On arrival, they confirmed that the fire had caused 20 per cent damages to the kitchen and storeroom.
It was reported that the fire occurred due to an electrical spark.
The fire was brought under control around 8.17pm and extinguished minutes later.
