KUCHING: The Information Department of Malaysia (JaPen) has strengthened its staff’s understanding of the ePerolehan system through a dedicated course aimed at improving procurement management.

JaPen Sarawak director Helmy Hamid officiated at the opening ceremony of the Kursus ePerolehan JaPen Sarawak Director Helmy Hamid Tahun 2025 Zon Borneo at a local hotel today (Feb 12) morning. He highlighted the importance of the system, which has been in use since 2000 and was fully upgraded in 2018 to align with Malaysia’s Digital Economy Blueprint.

“This course is crucial in fulfilling the annual Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of the Management and Financial Services Division (BKPK), which mandates that all officers involved in procurement undergo relevant training,” he said.

He further noted that as officer rotations occur periodically, it is essential to ensure that all personnel possess the necessary knowledge and skills to manage procurement systematically and efficiently.

The three-day course, running from February 11 to 14, provides comprehensive exposure to various aspects of the ePerolehan system, including direct purchases, quotation and tender management, and contract administration in compliance with financial regulations.
