SRI AMAN: Contractors and project consultants were told to ensure that construction projects that are being implemented are within schedule.
Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) director Richard Tajan said they also must do such without compromising on the quality of work.
He said this during a work visit to a project site in Lubok Antu yesterday.
Tajan oversaw the construction of the proposed Nanga Kesit-Ulu Lemanak-Engkari Road (Phase 1).
His visit was to keep abreast of the progress of the project as well as gather information and issues faced by the contractors on site.
Accompanying him were JKR deputy director (Infrastructure) Cassidy Morris, acting deputy director (Asset Management) Chang Kueh Chin, project head Meehan Jorai, unit chief (Geotechnical & Slope) Lee Lin Jye, JKR Sri Aman division engineer Christopher George and other officers from the department.
