LAWAS: An elderly woman sustained bruises to her leg after her wooden house collapsed in Kampung Banting early this morning (Apr 13).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Lawas station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 3.10 am.

Upon arrival, they discovered that five residents — a man, two women, and two boys — managed to escape the rubble with only minor injuries.

However, an elderly woman was found trapped with her leg pinned under a fallen cabinet. The team successfully extricated her from the debris.
