Elderly reported missing in Serian

SERIAN: An elderly man was reported missing after he had not returned home for some time. Bong Kim Boon, 69, was last seen at Kampung Cina, Lorong 1, here. The incident was reported to Serian Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station by Serian police station on Yesterday (Sept 14).

The report was received at 5.04pm and a team was deployed. “The operations commander and a team of firemen met up with the family of the missing man to gather more information on his whereabouts.

“A witness, who is a rental car driver, said that Bong needed a lift and requested to be sent to Wisma Seberkas in Kuching,” said the State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre.

After further discussion with the family, Serian police deemed this case closed under its jurisdiction and the case is referred to Kuching district police for further action.
