MIRI: The success or failure of government policies in providing amenities to the people relies on how well agencies appointed render their services, said Local Government and Housing Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.

“For water supply to rural areas, the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) has been given the task by the State government to carry out the mission. There are challenges,” he commented at JBALB Miri ‘JasaMu Dikenang’ held at a leading hotel here on Saturday.

He urged JBALB to carry out efficient services to the people as their performances would reflect on the State government.

At the function, five JBALB’s Miri staff who are retiring received certificate of appreciation.

Penguang also pledged RM10,000 grant to Miri JBALB club to finance its activities.

Present at the event were Sarawak JBALB director Ir Chang Kuet Shian and Miri Resident Mastapha Julaihi.
